Although there is debate that surrounds who is the first to make the drift boat, it seems that the Rapid Robert preceded Woodie Hindman's design, the Prince Helfrich Double Ender. Evidently, both the Rapid Robert and the Prince Helfrich Double Ender served to influence the design for the original McKenzie River Drift Boat.
